Harris York- Director of Student Ministries

Hello, my name is Harris York and I am the Director of Student Ministries here at First Presbyterian Church. I have been at First Presbyterian Church as an Assistant Director of Student Ministry since December of 2005 and now have the opportunity of being the Director. In early December of 2005 I graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelors Degree in Criminology. Rome is where I grew up and First Presbyterian is my church home! I love being a part of youth ministry because it allows me to see God work in and through the lives of young people. Throughout my time here I have found a love for seeing students take hold of their faith. I hope and pray that the students that are in our ministry will see what that means in us as well as their peers and choose to do the same in their lives as well.

Michelle Peteet- Assistant Director of Student Ministry

Hey, I'm Michelle Peteet, the Assistant Director of Student Ministry at First Presbyterian Church. I just graduated from Berry College and am now attending Graduate School there in the Business Program. I am originally from Athens, Georgia and I really love Rome. I volunteered with the youth program in the spring of 2006, and as well was on staff with the College ministry. I am now the Asst. Director of Student Ministries and loving every minute of it!

Sonny Walker- Assistant Director of Student Ministries

Yo, my name is Sonny Walker and I am the Assistant Director of Student Ministries along with Michelle. I graduated from Auburn University in August 2009 with a degree in Animal Sciences. Since the summer of 2007, I have been part of First Prez's Youth Ministry through summer internships. But now I am here year round! And I am fired up about it. I fell in love with youth ministry after my first summer internship and the relationships I made with the students brought me back to Rome after graduation. Word. And seek Him in all you do. Karin Warner- Girls' Small Groups Coordinator

Hi! My name is Karin Warner, and I am the coordinator for girls' small groups. My husband and I have been away in Virginia for about five years, but are so excited to be back in Rome and working for the church! I have had the opportunity of working with the youth group here at First Presbyterian as both a summer intern while in college, and as a full-time employee after I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2000. My husband, Chad, and I have been married since 2002; we have two daughters: Aly (born in February of 2006) and Caroline (born in August of 2007). I believe so strongly in the vision and leadership of this youth ministry, and am excited to see the growth and development of each student as God works in and through them.

Jessica Vick- Student Ministry Intern

Hi! My name is Jessica Vick and I am the Student Ministry Intern for FPC Student Ministries. I am a Junior at Shorter College and working toward a BS in General Studies. My emphasis is Religion and my areas of study are Psychology and Communications. While my years in college have been great ones full of growth, I’m looking forward to graduating in May of 2010 and am very excited to see where God’s journey for me will lead. I’m very passionate about sharing with others the blessing that Jesus is in my life and He has so graciously given me the opportunity to do just that with the amazing students here at First Pres!

Volunteers

David Baker

David has been with FPC Student Ministries since the Summer of 2008. As he has been a youth pastor before, David flourishes with High School and College Students with his laid back personality! Whether its Ground or Next Day Air, David is also our resident UPS supervisor! Ask him for all your shipping needs! David leads our College Sunday School class as well as College Wednesday Nights!

Mary Magoni

Mary has been with FPC Student Ministries since Summer of 2009 where she served as an intern. Mary is currently a senior at Berry College. If there's one person that will always light up a room its Mary, her servant heart and always happy attitude will always bring a smile to your face! It has been proven that its impossible to make Mary mad! Mary is leading our 9th grade girls small group!

Courtney Peteet

Courtney has been volunteering at FPC Student Ministries since she was an intern in the summer of 2008 when she served as an intern. Courtney has since been involved in our college ministry and has been leading our 11th Grade girls small group for the past two years and will continue that this year!

Will Raybon

Will is a product of FPC Student Ministries. A native of Rome and former student and intern of our ministry, Will is a graduate of Georgia Tech and is now living back in Rome. After interning in the Summer of 2007, Will has been actively involved in our youth as well as college ministries, and is now volunteering as our 9th grade guys small group leader.

Tiffany Wesley

TIffany became a part of FPC Student Ministries through our College ministry and has since been helping in many ways. She is currently a senior at Berry College and has a heart anything Jamaican! Her faithful service to being a Disciple Now leader and Summer intern in 2009 shows just what kind of girls she is! Tiffany is leading our 8th grade girls small group!

Ishmael Woods

Ishmael is yet another product of FPC Student Ministries. He is currently a sophmore at Shorter College and has a love for some Gangsta Gospel. He is probably one of the only people you will find that can continually make himself laugh! Ishmael is leading our 7th Grade Guys Small Group!
