Dear Runner,
      Hello and welcome to the Run for the World 5K and 1 mile Run/Walk. 2011 will mark the 4th year for the Run for the World 5K, which will be held right in the heart of Downtown Rome. Run among all Rome has to offer, including over the famous clock-tower hill. Come join us for a morning of fun that is sure to amuse the family and friends. We hope that you will join us for this fun event taking place on May 7th. As a host for this event our team of directors is striving to raise money to allow high school and college students the opportunity to effect and be affected by world mission around the globe. To find out more about our ministry and how we strive to reach out to youth around our community, please feel free to browse around our website!  

We hope you will consider partnering with us to better help our students reaching their goal either by your participation or through your donations! Registration, starting and finish lines will be located at "The Crossing"(across from Rome Transit Bus Station, and next to harvest moon). REGISTRATION:

Runners or walkers can pre-register through mail by filling out the form/waiver provided below or online by clicking here. Please note that if registering by mail that form must be postmarked by April 29th and online registration ends May 5th. Race day registration is available and will be held at "The Crossing"(across from Rome Transit Bus Station, and next to Harvest Moon). Please note that racers registering the day of the event are not guaranteed a t-shirt. All registered racers can pick up their race packets at "The Crossing" between 7:00-8:15am, Saturday morning of the race.

AWARDS

The 5k Awards Ceremony will be held at the finish line at 10:30 a.m., and awards will be given to the winners in the following categories:
Male and Female: 1st Place Overall, 13 & under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50 & over.

INCLEMENT WEATHER:

Please note the race will be held rain or shine, but in the cases of inclement weather, racers can seek shelter in First Presbyterian Church Christian Life Center.

FIRST AID STATION AND REFRESHMENTS:

First Aid will be available on site, and provided by Floyd EMS Services. The course is supervised and closed at various locations by Rome Police Department!  Water will be stationed heavily throughout the course. Feel free to join us after the race for post-race refreshments!
